Delhi Capitals had a miserable start to their innings when dashing opener David Warner was dismissed on a golden duck.
However, Sarfaraz Khan (32 off 16 balls) and Mitchell Marsh ( 63 off 48 balls) took their team to a challenging total of 159.
Chasing 160, Punjab Kings were never in the game and lost the contest by 17 runs, with Shardul Thakur taking 4 wickets.
When Rishabh Pant was asked about Warner’s dismissal in the post-match presentation, he refused to criticize his player.
“It happens as it is part and parcel of the game. David Warner has been phenomenal for us in IPL 2022, and one dismissal won’t make him bad,” said Pant.
Delhi are fourth in the points table with one more game to go. If they win that game, the Capitals will surely qualify for the playoffs in the 15th season of the tournament.
