R Ashwin became the first player in the history of the Indian Premier League to retired-out. It happened during the 18th over of the Rajasthan Royals’ innings against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022.

After facing two balls from Avesh Khan, he went off the park after scoring 28 off 23 balls, with the help of two sixes. Riyan Parag replaced the veteran.

R Ashwin is the second overall to do it franchise T20 leagues after Sunzamul Islam during the 2019 Bangladesh Premier League.

Earlier, KL Rahul won the toss and asked Rajasthan to bat first.

Shimron Hetmyer scored an unbeaten 59 off 36 balls to take RR’s score to 165/6 in 20 overs. The southpaw hit 6 fours and 1 six during his innings.
