Lucknow Super Giants’ search for two more points continues as Rajasthan Royals thumped them in the latest match. They are still on 16 points and will have to avoid a heavy defeat in the last game to qualify for the playoffs.
LSG have been poor in the last few games, which has disturbed their momentum in the tournament. Captain KL Rahul was unhappy after a 24-run defeat and took a dig at the batters. He said that losing two early wickets (Quinton de Kock and Ayush Badoni) was the main reason, and they have lost matches in the past after the departure of early batters.
“It was a gettable target, a good pitch. The new ball assisted the bowlers, and we were good with the ball. However, the batting group has not performed well. Losing two wickets was bad, and we’ve lost games because of that before. So we need to find ways to get a good start during the remaining games. Our batters will have to play out the new ball or a good spell. There’s often enough time to make up and go for big shots afterwards,” he said.
