Lucknow Super Giants were eliminated from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 after losing the Eliminator to Royal Challengers Bangalore. The KL Rahul-led franchise fell short by 14 runs in a high scoring chase at Eden Gardens. Captain Rahul and Deepak Hooda were the only performers with the bat while chasing 208.

Earlier, Rajat Patidar played one of the best innings in the history of the league. Despite losing Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell, Rajat didn’t slow down and kept hitting fours and sixes. He amassed an unbeaten 112, laced with 12 fours and 7 sixes.

Meanwhile, KL has promised to comeback stronger in IPL 2023. He took to social media to thank everyone associated with the franchise.

“Inspiration all around me. A special first season comes to an end. Not the way we wanted, but we gave it absolutely everything till the very end. Thank you to the LSG family. To all our support staff, team management and Dr. Goenka,” he wrote

The top-order batter also lauded fans for their support throughout the 15th season of the tournament.

“Lastly, thank you to our fans for all the love you’ve shown us over our first season. We’ll be back,” he added.
