Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene has reacted to the no-ball controversy that marred the Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals match in IPL 2022. Needing 36 off 6 balls, Rovman Powell hit Obed McCoy for three consecutive sixes. However, the third was a high full toss, but the on-field umpires refused to call it a no-ball.

This made DC skipper Rishabh Pant furious, who instructed his batters to leave the field and even sent assistant coach Pravin Amre to the field, who was seen arguing with the officials.

The former Sri Lankan player was unhappy with the behavior of the players and Amre.

“it was disappointing to see when people come on to the field and stop a game, but I honestly believe it was just emotions carrying over in the last over. Third umpire should tell the onfield umpire if it’s a No Ball,” he told ICC. Rajasthan won the game by 15 runs.
