With eight defeats in a row, Mumbai Indians face the challenging task of getting their first two points in IPL 2022.

Mumbai Indians are finding it hard to win matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The five-time champions have lost two consecutive matches in the 15th season of the tournament. They lost to Rajasthan Royals by 23 runs. Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma kept them in the hunt, but their dismissals in quick succession ended Mumbai’s hopes.

From 121 for 2 in 12.5 overs, MI were reduced to 136 for 6 in 15.2 when Daniel Sams was sent back to the pavilion by Yuzvendra Chahal. However, the fans were still confident due to the presence of Kieron Pollard at the crease, but he couldn’t hit the boundaries and managed 22 off 24 balls.

He was brutally trolled for his slow innings against the RR, who are the number one team in the points table after securing back-to-back victories.

“Sometimes we all have to raise our hands, clap them together and say: Pollard is finished,” one of the fans wrote.

“Kieron Pollard is finished. That’s the tweet.PS: @Jaspritbumrah93 ko bhi ball khelne deta,” another fan slammed the all-rounder.

“Mumbai Indians might have lost today, but the positive for MI being Pollard showed glimpses of MS Dhoni as a finisher. Great times ahead for MI.”

“Special Appreciation for @KieronPollard55 for his spectacular and wonderful innings of 22 Runs of just 24 balls.”

Earlier, Mumbai won the toss and asked Rajasthan to bat first. Jos Buttler smashed a well-compiled hundred and was assisted by Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer to help RR post 193 for 8.

In reply, Ishan and Tilak showed their class, but their exit brought the game in Rajasthan’s favor.
