Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad face each other in match number 61 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season on Saturday.

Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad face each other in match number 61 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season on Saturday. KKR are placed seventh in the table, having won 5 and lost 7. SRH are above KKR, winning five and losing six. They have a better Net Run Rate.

Analysis of KKR

The Shreyas Iyer-led KKR have to play well in the remaining two games. With Brendon McCullum being appointed as England Test team coach, he will be keen to finish on a high by seeing KKR win the last two games. KKR have been below-par this season however, the win versus MI in the last game will help them get confidence. Batting wise, KKR are in need of stability. They will hope Venkatesh Iyer scores runs once again. The likes of Nitish Rana, Shreyasn Iyer, and Rinku Singh have work to do.Andre Russell will be keen to perform well.

With the ball, Umesh Yadav had suffered a calf injury and KKR will hope he makes a return after having missed the last two games. Tim Southee and Sunil Narine have work to do and carry this side. Andre Russell can claim wickets when needed. All eyes will be on the struggling Varun Chakravarthy. With Pat Cummins ruled out, KKR could include Shivam Mavi and perhaps drop Sheldon Jackson for Sam Billings.

Analysis of SRH

SRH need their confidence back after 4 straight losses. They have been let down with the ball mainly after doing so well prior to that. Batting wise, a lot of pressure is on the middle-order to perform as the side has failed to get desired starts of late. Onus will be on the SRH openers to come out prepared and add quality runs. Nicholas Pooan has done well in the middle for SRH and he has a crucial job in hand.

Bowling wise, Umran has done well but in the last few games, he has gone cold. Expect a solid show like the last time he did well versus KKR. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has an important role ahead of him.

Head-to-head record

The two teams have met 22 times in the IPL with KKR leading 14-8 in the head-to-head record. The previous game saw SRH beat KKR this season.

What is the expected playing XI of both sides?

KKR predicted playing XI: Ajinkya Rahane/, Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer (c), Sam Billings (wk), Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, S Mavi, Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee, Varun Chakravarthy

SRH predicted playing XI: Abhishek Sharma, Kane Williamson (c), Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Shashank Singh, Jagadeesha Suchith, Kartik Tyagi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Fazalhaq Farooqi/Marco Jansen, Umran Malik

Which team is the predicted winner?

We put our money on KKR here. SRH have lost four successive games after winning five on the trot. The bowling has got a bit weaker for SRH and the batting lacks the desired bite.

Key details about the pitch, timing, and TV listing
