Gujarat Titans undid Delhi Capitals in their second match of IPL 2022. Despite being in the contest for an extended part of the game, the Rishabh Pant-led team lost the game by 14 runs. Former India player and one of the commentators in the 15th season of the league, Irfan Pathan, has blamed Rishabh Pant for the defeat.
Irfan feels Rishabh played a reckless shot and could have easily avoided it, considering the game’s situation. However, Pant went for his stroke against Lockie Ferguson and lost his wicket.
“Pant’s dismissal brought the game GT’s favor as he was set and could have won it for his team. But, instead, he took on Ferguson at the wrong time, which gifted the game to rivals,” he said.
Even Harbhajan Singh agreed with Irfan’s views while giving his opinion on Delhi’s defeat. “He needs to play with responsibility as pressure would always be there, and you must learn how to tackle such situations when you are playing in the IPL.”
