South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi gave his opinion on no bids for him in the IPL 2022 mega auction, stating he has no regrets. Shamsi has been a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals in his IPL career and talked about getting fewer chances to prove himself.

He made his IPL debut in 2016, replacing West Indies’ Samuel Badree. He played four games and took 3 wickets. The 32-year-old featured in the second half of IPL 2021 for RR and played one game, taking no wickets.

He said no when asked whether he gets frustrated after not getting picked in the auction.

“It doesn’t bother me as I can’t control it. I would love to be there. If I was allowed to play regularly in the IPL, I could help a team win the trophy. I didn’t get enough chances to prove myself in my two stints. As a player, you need a decent run to showcase your abilities. When Imran Tahir was a part of the national set-up, I didn’t get to play regularly. But since he moved on, I have shown that I can win games and climbed up to No 1 in the world.”

The left-arm wrist-spinner has been South Africa’s first-choice spinner in limited-overs cricket. He clinched the No. 1 spot for bowlers in T20Is in March 2021 and still holds the position with 784 points.
