Umran Malik bowled with perfect line and length in the game against Punjab Kings. The 22-year-old was named the Man of the Match for his four-wicket spell and was praised by leading cricket experts for his display with the ball.
He took three wickets in the 20th over without conceding a run. On being asked about seeing the fear of his bowing in the eyes of rival batters by Harsha Bhogle, Umran said: “I want to see fear in the eyes of batters, and this is what I work for. I have been working on variations and bowled a couple of slow balls against the Punjab Kings that were impactful,” he said.
“I played tennis ball cricket until 2018-19 when Abdul Samad asked to try red-ball cricket. He also recommended my name to the Hyderabad-based franchise, and this is how I became a part of the team,” he added.
