The Rajasthan Royals have been one of the best-performing franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The side is third with 14 points in 11 games and could qualify for the playoffs with another win. While Jos Buttler leads the run-scoring charts with 625 runs in 12 innings, Yuzvendra Chahal is the joint-highest wicket-taker with 23 wickets in 12 contests.
Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Chahal have done well in the bowling department. The 29-year-old Anunay Singh is learning from these international stars. He was picked by RR on his base price of INR 20 lakh.
While he is yet to appear in the ongoing season, Anunay, who represents Bihar in domestic cricket, will implement his learning when he plays for his state team.
He recently opened up on life and his struggles while trying to make ends meet.
“I’m from a middle-class family, and my dad was the only earning family member. I thought of joining McDonald’s and would have made 7-8k monthly. But then, I thought that my game would be hampered if I do work,” Anunay said in the video.
“I didn’t talk about it at home. My seniors would often give me shoes. Often, I slept having milk and bread, but I didn’t say anything to my other as she would have lost her sleep hearing that,” Anunay said.
