Former West Indies pacer Ian Bishop recently shared a story about West Indies and Delhi Capitals’ explosive batter Rovman Powell. He had promised his mother that he would take his family out of poverty when the player was in secondary school.
The 28-year-old accumulated 33* in just 16 balls to help the Capitals to win against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, the former pacer said, “If you have time, go and look at Rovman Powell’s life story. He is from a family that was not financially sound. He had promised his mother that he would take them out of poverty when he was still in school. He is living that dream to do that,” he said.
