Ricky Ponting was one of the cricketers, who always troubled India. Be it the 2003 World Cup final or the bilateral matches, Punter always scored runs against the Indian bowlers. Even when the Indian team eliminated Australia from the 2011 World Cup, Ponting scored a century.
However, post retirement, Ponting has started getting a lot of love from the Indian fans, especially for his association with IPL franchise Delhi Capitals. He is the head coach of the Delhi-based franchise since 2018.
Having worked closely with the franchise for four years now, he knows a lot about the Indian players associated with the Capitals.
He has heaped massive praise on Prithvi Shaw and feels he can play 100 Test matches for India.
“Prithvi Shaw is talented like me and he has the skills to play 100 Test matches for India. I want to turn him into a cricketer, who represents his country in Whites. When I took over Mumbai Indians, Rohit was very young, Hardik and Krunal hadn’t played. A lot of the guys that I have coached there have gone on to play for the national team. I want to achieve the same target over here in Delhi,” he said.
