Kolkata Knight Riders head coach Brendon McCullum is mighty pleased with the wicket-keeping skills of Sheldon Jackson and has compared him with MS Dhoni and star Caribbean power-hitter Andre Russell.
The 35-year old hogged the limelight when he affected a lightning-fast stumping to dismiss Robin Uthappa during the IPL 2022 opening match against Chennai Super Kings.
Praising Jackson’s unique abilities, McCullum has said Jackson’s growth in the last two seasons has been significant, and he is getting better despite being 35.
“Sheldon continues to get better, and despite being 35, you wouldn’t know. His growth in the last two years has been significant. He has a good ball-striking ability like Andre Russell. I am sure with more opportunities, we will see a performance from Sheldon,” said Brendon McCullum.
“The wicket-keeping skills have been superb as well. He has got a MS Dhoni sort of a feel about keeping; really fast hands, and understanding of spin. He is desperate to do well,” he added.
