Virat Kohli finally scored a fifty in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The former RCB skipper hit 58 off 53 balls at a strike rate of 109.43. Virat hit 6 fours and a six against Gujarat Titans, but his effort went in vain as the Hardik Pandya led team won the game by 6 wickets.
The 33-year-old was criticized for his slow batting, which impacted the overall score of the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Even Harsha Bhogle was not entirely pleased with the way Kohli batted. “Everyone, #RCB and India fans, and I am among them, would be delighted to see Kohli among the runs. But purely in the context of the game this evening, they would have liked him to have got those a bit quicker,” he wrote.
Earlier, Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to bat first. Apart from Virat, Rajat Patidar (52) and Glenn Maxwell (33) took the team to 170/6.
Gujarat never had a problem despite losing a few quick wickets. David Miller (39) and Rahul Tewatia (43) completed the chase in 19.3 overs, leading their team to the 8th win of the season.
