Anrich Nortje is expected to join Delhi Capitals at some stage of IPL 2022, but there is no confirmation of him being part of the playing XI. If this was not enough, Delhi have suffered another setback in the form of Mitchell Marsh, the in-form Aussie star.
After injuring his hip, he has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan.
The loss of Marsh for the three-match series will add more pressure on the Aussies, who are without Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood.
Steve Smith has been ruled out while Glenn Maxwell misses after getting married.
“He’s injured his hip flexor, we think, at training. So we will have to wait and see what that looks like, but I don’t think he’ll be available for the series based on how he was feeling yesterday,” said Finch.
If the injury happens to be serious, it could pose a serious problem for the Capitals as Marsh was one of the best performers in the last edition of the T20 World Cup. The Delhi based franchise was counting on him to end their title drought.
