Irfan Pathan is delighted to see Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik in the squad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Glenn Phillips has stated the raw pace of Umran Malik has forced him to protect himself with a chest guard in the net session. Malik created havoc against the Punjab Kings with a four-wicket haul and bowled a brilliant 20th over to pick up three wickets without conceding a run.

Malik was on a hat-trick after dismissing Rahul Chahar and Vaibhav Arora in two consecutive balls, while Arshdeep Singh was run out in the final delivery of the innings. He finished with 4 for 28 in his 4 overs to help his team dismiss the Punjab side to just 151 in 20 overs. SRH easily chased down the score.

Glenn Phillips noted that facing Malik is not easy and wondered how it would be to face him during the real action.

“He is absolutely rapid. Facing him in the nets is a nightmare. I always wear my chest guard while facing him. I think Kane and Umran have probably talked to each other and have realized that having a slip is not right when Umar is bowling at that sort of pace. Having two fielders at the third man position is not a bad idea.,” he added.
