Veteran India wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha wants to join Tripura as player-cum-mentor.

Wriddhiman Saha was told his international career is over by head coach Rahul Dravid and the national selectors. However, the veteran has proved his value in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. He is playing for Gujarat Titans, and since replacing Matthew Wade in the opening slot, the right-handed batter has been on fire.

The veteran has scored 281 runs in eight games and has been fantastic at the top, especially in the powerplay. In the last game against Chennai Super Kings, he scored an unbeaten 57-ball 67 to see his side through. Batting consultant Gary Kirsten has heaped massive praise on the 37-year-old player.

“We have been very impressed with Saha. It is great to have him in the team. He is a real professional. He understands his game well and plays really well in the powerplay. Saha has been an important asset to have, and he has come in and done really well for us,” said Gary Kirsten.
