Dinesh Karthik had the two worst games when he was expected to deliver for Royal Challengers Bangalore. His wicket-keeping was not upto the mark in Eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants. However, it didn’t hurt RCB as they won the game by 14 runs.

In Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals, he failed with the bat and also dropped Jos Buttler’s catch, who scored a hundred to eliminate the Bangalore-based franchise from the tournament.

Former India cricketers Irfan Pathan, Mohammad Kaif, and Suresh Raina were unhappy with Karthik’s wicket-keeping and felt that Buttler’s catch could have made the difference as the rest of the batters had failed to deliver under pressure.

Meanwhile, chasing 158 to qualify for the final, the 2008 champions won the game by 7 wickets, with Buttler scoring an unbeaten 106 runs, laced with 10 fours and 6 sixes.
