The young fast bowler from Jammu & Kashmir, Umran Malik, has bowled the fastest deliveries in IPL 2022. The 22-year-old, who was retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad, regularly bowls at 153 kmph. Former England skipper Michael Vaughan predicted that Malik could play for India soon.
Recently, Sunrisers fast bowling coach Dale Steyn participated in a Q&A on Twitter where he answered several questions. One of the fans asked him about his inspiration and the former South African pacer named Umran Malik.
Steyn, who coaches the young Indian bowler in the cash-rich league, also had some suggestions for him as he urged Umran to continue bowling with pace but add some variations.
“Never lose pace. Anyone can bowl 130/135. But yes, some variety in his skills will take him a long way forward,” he wrote.
Steyn also made a bold prediction for him as he mentioned that Umran would feature ‘heavily in the future along with Marco Jansen.
“Umran Malik will feature heavily in the future, as will Marco Jansen from a all rounder point of view. (Sunrisers specific).”
SRH have won two successive games in the 15th season of the Indian Premier League. The 2016 champions had started the tournament with back to back defeats.
