All is not well between Ravindra Jadeja and Chennai Super Kings.

Former India player Mohammad Kaif feels Ravindra Jadeja was nervous in his first game as a captain. The all-rounder led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the opening fixture of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede stadium.

Shreyas Iyer-led team won the game by 6 wickets. Kaif, however, said that Jadeja will learn from his mistakes and improve.

“Jadeja is an in-form player for India, who got a chance to captain CSK. He looked nervous and may be there was a pressure of captaincy on him. He couldn’t bat freely and came to bowl late. His approach was a bit conservative. But it was his first match, he will learn.”

Kaif further said the captain made a mistake by asking Tushar Deshpande to open the bowling in Deepak Chahar’s absence.

“Jadeja made a mistake by giving Deepak Chahar’s role to Tushar Desphande.  Robin Uthappa looked good but was stumped. They managed 131, which was not enough on a Wankhede track.”
