The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured an easy win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2022. The SRH dismissed the Faf du Plessis-led team for 68 before chasing down the target with 12 overs to spare in a one-sided contest. Hyderabad are second in the table with 10 points in seven matches.
In the past few games, the performance of fast bowler Umran Malik has drawn the attention of fans and former cricketers. The 22-year-old youngster has taken 10 wickets in 7 games and has worked on his line and length.
Brian Lara, who is a part of the SRH support staff, has lauded Malik’s display in IPL.
“He reminds me of my playing time when all the greats of the West Indian team were playing. Sir Malcolm Marshall, Courtney Walsh, and Curtly Ambrose were different types of bowlers. But he reminds me a lot of Fidel Edwards. I hope he understands that many batters will not be scared of his pace when he plays for India. So, he needs to add more variation to his armory,” Lara said on Star Sports.
“He is a quick learner, and he asks different questions in the net sessions,” the Windies great further added.
