Mumbai Indians lost their seventh successive game of IPL 2022 and became the first team in IPL history to register this unwanted record.

Former Indian batter Aakash Chopra reckons that the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) lack good players in the lower order. As a result, Mumbai lost to Delhi Capitals in their opening fixture of IPL 2022.

Rohit Sharma-led team will take on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the DY Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

“They lack depth in the lower order. Mumbai are playing Daniel Sams because they want those extra runs with the bat, but he conceded 57 runs with the ball. They need to do something different.”

MI are missing the likes of Krunal and Hardik Pandya, but Chopra feels that there are still talented batters in the line-up.

“Tilak Verma, Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, and Tim David can score runs against any bowling unit. I think Riley Meredith should replace Daniel Sams. They can win a game due to their batting as their bowling is looking 50-50.”
