It is almost impossible to leave out legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar from a discussion, especially when India is playing Australia in a Test match, and that too at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
Team India’s all-format skipper Virat Kohli is an equally famous name in this part of the world. Thanks to Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne and India’s Shubman Gill brief conversation, both Sachin and Virat’s were mentioned during Day 2 of the ongoing third Test in Sydney.
Labuschagne and Gill were having banter on Friday when the former, who was fielding at short leg, asked the latter about his favorite batsman. Notably, Gill is rumored to be dating Sachin’s daughter, Sara Tendulkar.
“Who’s your favorite player?” said Labuschagne.
“I will tell you after the match,” Gill replied
The 26-year-old was not satisfied with the answer and he went on to ask whether it was Sachin Tendulkar or Virat Kohli. “After the ball… Sachin? Do you reckon Virat?” Labuschagne added.
However, Labushcagne banter continued as he went on to tease veteran opening batsman Rohit Sharma. “hey what did you do in quarantine?” he asked Rohit, who made a comeback to Indian XI in the ongoing Test match after completing a 14-day quarantine.
