India’s ODI team vice-captain Shreyas Iyer is struggling with a rib injury. In the third ODI against Australia, Iyer got injured while taking a brilliant catch, after which he was admitted to the ICU. He has now been discharged, but it will take him nearly three months to recover.

According to a report by Dainik Jagran, it will be difficult for Shreyas Iyer to become fully fit before the IPL. He may even miss a few initial IPL matches, which could be a big setback for the Punjab Kings. A scan was done at Iyer’s home, which showed some improvement, but he will undergo another test after two months, following which a decision will be taken regarding his return to play.

Due to this injury, Iyer will not play in the ODI series against South Africa starting on the 30th, and he may also miss the ODI series against New Zealand in January.
