Before the IPL, Rohit Sharma has set a big condition for Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma has made it clear that he will no longer sit on the bench as an “Impact Player.” According to reports, he has informed the Mumbai Indians management that he wants to play full matches in IPL 2026, just coming to bat and then going back to the dugout is not acceptable to him.

Remember last season? In the Indian Premier League 2025, Rohit mostly came just to bat, and when the team was fielding, he was replaced by an Impact Substitute. Fans did not like this at all because, well, it’s more fun when the Hitman is actually on the field!

Now here’s the twist — even at the age of 38, Rohit looks fitter than ever. He has been working hard on his fitness because his aim is to play the 2027 World Cup. After retiring from Tests and stepping down from ODI captaincy, he doesn’t want to give the selectors any excuse to drop him for fitness reasons.

In IPL 2025, he scored 418 runs in 15 matches at an almost 150 strike rate! He was also the second-highest run-scorer for the team after Suryakumar Yadav. In other words, his bat is still talking.

But now the real suspense begins…

If Mumbai Indians agree to his demand, everything is fine, and Rohit will be seen on the ground full of energy. But what if the MI management doesn’t agree?

Could Rohit Sharma take such a big step as leaving Mumbai Indians? Or… could he shock everyone with a retirement announcement from the IPL itself?

This is the question running through every fan’s mind. Because Rohit is no longer just playing — he wants to make his career longer and stronger.

Now it’s time to see what MI decides.
