RCB, the champions of IPL 2025, have suffered a major setback ahead of IPL 2026. According to reports, the team will not be able to play even a single match at their home ground, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, this season.
Last year, during RCB’s victory parade at this stadium, a stampede broke out, resulting in the death of 11 people and injuries to many others. Since then, the stadium has remained closed.
According to an NDTV report, RCB is not keen on hosting its IPL 2026 home matches in Bengaluru. The report states that RCB has not held any discussions with the Karnataka State Cricket Association regarding hosting IPL 2026 matches at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
In such a scenario, RCB’s home matches may be shifted outside Bengaluru, with Raipur being the frontrunner. Indore is also in the race.
