From captaincy to batting, whenever records are discussed, Rohit Sharma’s name echoes across the cricketing world. However, now Ireland’s captain Paul Stirling has broken Rohit Sharma’s world record. Paul has overtaken Rohit Sharma to become the player with the most T20 International matches in the world.

On Wednesday, when he stepped onto the field against the UAE, he created history. Paul Stirling has now played 160 T20I matches in his career. Earlier, this record belonged to Rohit Sharma, who had played 159 T20I matches.

The “Hitman” had bid farewell to this format after the 2024 T20 World Cup. Now, two years later, his record has been broken. Apart from Paul Stirling and Rohit Sharma, the third player to have played more than 150 T20I matches is George Dockrell, who has played 153 matches for Ireland so far.
