Amit Mishra’s wife has accused him of dowry harassment and has taken the matter to court.
Wait a second—this is not the Amit Mishra you might be thinking of. Yes, he is also a former IPL cricketer. Let me explain the whole story.

Amit Mishra is a former cricketer who has played in the IPL for teams like Gujarat Lions, Rajasthan Royals, and Lucknow Super Giants. Currently, he works at the Reserve Bank of India as an Assistant Manager in the Security Department.

Now, the issue is that his wife, Garima Tiwari, filed a case on March 9 in a Judicial Magistrate Court accusing him of domestic violence, dowry harassment, and several other charges.

According to reports, Garima has alleged that her husband Amit Mishra and his family members subjected her to continuous harassment, physical assault, and also accused him of having extramarital affairs. Garima Tiwari, who is originally from Kanpur and is a former model, said this is not the first time she has taken legal action.

Earlier, she had filed complaints with the Kanpur Police Commissioner and the local police station. However, she claims that no concrete action was taken for over a year, which forced her to approach the court directly.

Garima also alleged that due to Amit Mishra’s influence and connections, her complaints were ignored at the police level, leaving her with no option but to file a fresh case in court. The court has now registered a domestic violence case and issued notices to the accused.

In her complaint, Garima said that she first met Amit Mishra in 2020 on the mobile app Instagram. A few months later, Amit proposed to her and often called her several times a day, expressing his love by saying “I love you.” Eventually, the two got married.

Garima alleges that soon after their engagement, Amit and his family began pressuring her for a luxury car and a lavish lifestyle. About a year after the wedding, she reportedly found screenshots of Amit chatting with several women on Instagram, which deeply shocked her.

When she confronted him, she claims Amit threatened her with divorce and physically assaulted her. Garima also alleged that Amit frequently demanded money under the pretext of buying a house and would choke or beat her if she refused.

However, the truth behind all these allegations will only become clear with time. For now, the case is under legal process, and it is expected that the facts will emerge as the investigation moves forward.
