The Kiwis overpowered the Men in Blue by 80 runs in the first T20I in Wellington. India endured a poor start to the three-match T20I series. This is India’s biggest ever loss in terms of runs in T20Is. India’s skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bowl first. But New Zealand scored 219 runs in 20 overs on the back of Tim Seifert’s 43-ball 84-run knock to prove Rohit’s decision wrong.
New Zealand batsmen proved too hot to handle for the vistitors. Indian bowlers got hammered all over the park while their batsmen were of no match to New Zealand’s brilliant bowling.
Take a look at how Twitter reacted:
Worst defeats in two formats of the game under Rohit’s captaincy in almost a week.
Hmm.
