Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has revealed his comeback date after a long-break from cricket. The 25-year-old is looking forward to play against New Zealand in January 2020.
“We thought this was the right time because even if I take four months, I will be coming back before the New Zealand series, mid-way actually. That was the plan that I play some international games, the IPL and then the World T20”.
Pandya, who is still in a rehabilitation phase, suffered a severe lower back pain during the final T20I encounter against South Africa.
The right-hander had tried to avoid back surgery for a long time but when he failed to recover, Pandya was left with no other option but to go under the knife.
“I noticed that I was not able to give my 100 per cent and that meant I was not doing justice to myself and the team. That is when I decided to go for the surgery,” said Pandya.
However, it is not that easy for a sportsperson to take such a brave step but Hardik decided to go for the surgery and make a strong comeback.
