India and England are battling it out in the Final of the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship (WTC). Though England has a reputation for producing pace-friendly pitches, India decided to back veteran spinners, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.
While the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Ishant Sharma got a nod ahead in the playing XI, Mohammed Siraj was unlucky not to make the cut. Though Siraj isn’t a part of the WTC Final, he still managed to hog all the limelight on social media.
Having said that, a picture of Siraj from the stands is doing rounds on Twitter. In the viral pic, the 27-year-old can be seen talking on a walkie-talkie. As the picture caught the attention of fans, they came with hilarious memes and jokes.
Here’s how Twitter reacted:
Coming back to the WTC Final, India were bowled out for 217 in the first innings as they failed to capitalize on a decent start given by openers Rohit Sharma (34) and Shubman Gill (28).
Skipper Virat Kohli (44) and Ajinkya Rahane (49) also batted decently but failed to capitalize on their promising starts. In reply, New Zealand batsmen dominated during the post-lunch session on Day 3 before two quick wickets halted their prowess ahead of Tea.
