Ricky Ponting, nicknamed “Punter” (due to his interest in greyhound betting), is one of Australia’s greatest cricketers, known for his aggressive batting and astute leadership. Born in Launceston, Tasmania, he debuted for Tasmania at 17 and for Australia at 20.

Ponting scored 27,483 international runs, including 13,378 Test runs and 13,704 ODI runs, with 71 centuries. He captained Australia to two World Cup titles and is the country’s most successful Test captain. After retiring in 2012, he coached IPL teams and commentated globally. Known for his competitive spirit, Ponting remains a cricketing icon.
