Eric Simons is a South African former all-rounder and one of the most respected coaches in international and franchise cricket. He made his international debut at age 32 in an ODI against Australia in 1994. Simons played 23 ODIs, taking 33 wickets and scoring 217 runs. After retiring, he coached Western Province and was South Africa’s national coach from 2002 to 2004.
He later served as India’s bowling consultant (2010–2012) and has been a key figure in the IPL, especially with Chennai Super Kings as assistant coach and bowling consultant. He has also coached in the SA20 league and for other IPL franchises
