COREY ANDERSON’S BIO
- Corey Anderson is a hard-hitting left-handed all-rounder who can also bowl at a medium pace. At just 16 years old, he became the youngest New Zealander to earn a professional contract. In only his second Test, Anderson scored a brilliant, stroke-filled hundred, though it was not enough to secure victory as the match ended in a draw against Bangladesh. Anderson announced his arrival on the world stage by breaking Shahid Afridi’s record for the fastest hundred in ODIs, achieving the feat in just 36 balls against the West Indies in Queenstown. The knock included six fours and 14 sixes, a record that had stood for 17 years. In 2020, Corey Anderson left New Zealand to pursue a career in the USA, signing a three-year deal with Major League Cricket. He played Minor League Cricket starting in 2021 and made his BL debut for the Hobart Hurricanes in 2023, becoming eligible to represent the USA that same year.
