Sanju Samson made his international debut in 2015, but the right-handed batter has failed to cement his place in the national team.

India wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson will be leading the Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League. RR released the Australia batsman Steve Smith ahead of the IPL 2021 auction and named Samson as the new captain of the team.

Samson is currently in Mumbai, undergoing the mandatory quarantine period ahead of the 14th edition of IPL.

The 26-year-old recently hosted a question-and-answer session on Twitter where fans asked him a plethora of queries related to his personal and professional life.

One of the users asked Samson to reveal his conversation with other players during the match. At this, the Kerala-born cricketer said that he and Ben Stokes never ‘talk much sense’ when they are in the middle.

“It can be anything. It depends on the partner you are batting with. So, if I am batting with Stokesy (Ben Stokes), I don’t think we talk a lot of sense out there. We just smile about it and react like it was a great shot and then decide what to do next ball,” Samson said in a video posted on RR’s official Twitter handle.

During the interaction, Samson was also asked about RR’s new Director of Cricket Operations, Kumar Sangakkara.

Replying to the fan, Sanju asserted that he is looking forward to learning a lot of things from one of the most successful wicket-keepers in the history of the game.

“It’s an honour to have him alongside, especially when I am the captain and he is the coach. The relationship is going to be really special. Looking forward to meeting him and learning a lot of things from him,” Sanju Samson added.
