Sachin Tendulkar greeted with Sachin-Sachin chants on a flight

New Delhi: Indian legend and leading run-getter in world cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, got to relive the ‘Sachin-Sachin’ chants recently when he was travelling on a flight to Kashmir. The 50-year-old, who was recently in Kashmir, surprised the fans by travelling in economy class. A video has gone viral on the internet where the fans chanted ‘Sachin-Sachin’ on the flight while the former cricketer thanked them with folded hands. The passengers even clicked photos and recorded videos of this rare moment. They even thanked the master blaster for his kind gesture. Here is the clip.

Sachin, who made his debut for India in 1989, served the country for 24 years. Even during his retirement speech after the West Indies Test on November 14, 2013, the 50-year-old addressed the fans and remarked that he would miss the ‘Sachin-Sachin ‘ chants the most, following which the stadium reverberated with those chants.

The master blaster is used to such chants on the cricket ground, but it was a special moment for him as well to hear ‘Sachin-Sachin’ chants on a flight.

The video is likely to be recorded when Sachin travelled to Kashmir recently, as he shared a post on his Instagram revealing his travel to Kashmir. In the video, he wrote, “The closest thing to heaven on earth is Kashmir.”

Sachin also stopped by a bat manufacturing unit in Charsoo on the Srinagar-Jammu highway and interacted with the workers. “We were in the middle of making cricket bats when a vehicle pulled up to our gate. To our delight, we saw that it was the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and his family,” said Mohammad Shaheen Parray, the owner of MJ Sports, in an interview with news agency PTI.

“He examined a few of our bats and was impressed with their quality. Tendulkar mentioned that he had come to compare Kashmir willow bats with those made of English willow. We asked him if he could speak up in support of our local bats.”
