South Africa head coach Mark Boucher has revealed that the veteran batsman AB de Villiers is in international team selection discussions and might make a comeback in international cricket if he continues to perform well in franchise cricket.

Recently, AB de Villiers took part in the just-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). However, his franchise, RCB, once again failed to lift the coveted title. Boucher also stated that Mr. 360 was in selection talks before COVID-19.

Interestingly, AB was reportedly interested in playing the ICC Cricket World Cup last year, but in the end, his name didn’t appear in the main squad and the comeback story came to a halt for time being.

“AB was in discussions before COVID, he's always in discussions when he's playing good cricket, to be honest with you. Going forward I have not had a discussion with him at all, he has been playing in the IPL. He had a very good IPL as well,” Boucher was quoted as saying by News 18.

With the T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in India next year, it will be interesting to see if AB makes a comeback in the international arena. Meanwhile, South Africa are scheduled to take on England in a limited overs series, starting from November 27.
