India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma met Sarfaraz Khan’s brother Musheer, who fractured his neck in a car accident. The young batter was traveling to Lucknow from his hometown, Azamgarh, for the Irani Cup when his car hit a divider and overturned. His father, Naushad Khan, was also with him.
His father suffered minor injuries, but Musheer sustained a fracture in his neck and has been ruled out of action for three months. Rohit paid a visited him to him and posed for a picture with Musheer and his father, which was shared by Sarfaraz. Musheer also shared a photo on social media.
Ssararfaraz scored a double hundred for Mumbai in the Irani Cup, amassing 222 runs off 286 balls. He had promised his family that he would score a century for his injured brother.
He registered the highest score by a Mumbai player, surpassing the previous record of 195 runs set by Ramnath Parkar in 1972.
The match ended in a draw, but Mumbai were declared the winner based on the first-innings lead over the Rest of India. Sarfaraz was named the player of the match. He is likely to retain his place in the Team India squad for the three-match series against New Zealand.
