Smith feels that RR are a complete team this season
RR won their first match against LSG by 20 runs

Steve Smith believes the Rajasthan Royals look like the most well-rounded team in the IPL 2024 and that it is a task to defeat. The Royals started their campaign strongly, beating Lucknow Super Giants by 20 runs in their opening match. Rajasthan will next host Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Prior to their game on March 28, Steve Smith told Star Sports that the Rajasthan Royals seem well-prepared this season. The Australian star highlighted the spinners R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, as well as openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler, who are key players for the Jaipur-based franchise.

The home teams are currently on a winning streak. I’m hoping they can sustain this success, as they appear to have all areas covered this year. Their spinners, Chahal and Ashwin, are amazing, and I’m eager to watch them pair again. At the top of the order, they boast the most dynamic batters in the IPL. If they find their rhythm, I’m sure they’ll have a dominant season.” said Smith

Samson to focus on consistency

Smith spoke about RR skipper Sanju Samson, who anchored Rajasthan Royals during their victory over Lucknow Super Giants. While Samson excelled early in previous IPL seasons, his performance often declined towards the end.

Smith praised his performance, saying, “He played beautifully and secured the win for them. He seems to be in excellent form, comfortable, confident, and striking the ball with precision. His outstanding captaincy is a boon for the team, and he’ll aim to maintain this high level of play. In prior seasons, his performance has dipped toward the end, so sustaining this caliber of leadership and play will surely be his focus moving forward.” Smith continued.
