Royal Challengers Bangalore enjoyed a spectacular win over Dinesh Karthik-led Kolkata Knight Riders in their seventh match of the ongoing tournament. With their brilliant all-round efforts, Virat Kohli’s troops hammered the two-time champions by 82 runs in Sharjah. It was the Proteas legend, AB de Villiers, who stood out with the bat for RCB and smashed an unbeaten 73 runs off 33 balls against KKR. ‘Mr 360’ also weaved a 100-run partnership with skipper Virat Kohli and helped his side to post a formidable target of 195 runs on board.

Despite De Villiers’ impressive batting display in the last night game, England all-rounder Ben Stokes feels someone else was more deserving for the Man of the Match award in the RCB squad. According to the Rajasthan Royals star, Yuzvendra Chahal was the right man to receive the honour as he came up with the commendable figures of 1/12 at the Sharjah cricket stadium, a venue known to produce run-fests, considering the small dimensions of the ground.

Impressed with Chahal’s promising show, Stokes took to his official Twitter handle and wrote, “In a batters game @yuzi_chahal should get MOM here, incredible figures especially as it’s in Sharjah.”

Chahal along with his spin-partner Washington Sundar bowled extremely well in the middle overs to put a leash on KKR’s scoring.
