Similar to the iconic duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, India also saw Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav become formidable pair. The duo is often referred to as ‘KulCha’ and has brought great success for India as pair in white-ball cricket.
The famous duo appeared on the renowned ‘Breakfast with Champions’ show, where they revealed the origin of the viral name and named the Indian cricketer who coined the ‘KulCha’ term.
Chahal revealed that former India cricketer Virender Sehwag was the one who came up with ‘KulCha’ after the duo was unstoppable during the 2018 tour to South Africa.
“During the 2018 South Africa tour, we took 33 wickets, then Virender Sehwag started calling us KulCha or ChaKu. When we told Rohit bhai about our stats, he was shocked.”
Further, Chahal also opened up on his famous sleeping pose in 2019 and stated that he had no idea it would become so famous.
“It was 2019, I was not playing the match, so thought about chilling by the boundary. I had no clue that it would be so viral.”
Both Yadav and Chahal are busy with Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals at the IPL 2023.
