During the IPL 2013, the ugly spat took place between KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir and RCB captain Virat Kohli.

Indian Premier League has seen players taking on each other aggressively at times. During the IPL 2013, the ugly spat took place between KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir and RCB captain Virat Kohli.

Gambhir recently opened up on the verbal spat. Speaking to Jatin Sapru on his YouTube show ‘Over and Out’, sometimes personal relationships take a back seat, and he has no regret about the incident.

“I am fine with what happened on that day. I like people are competitive. MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are competitive in their styles, while I have my way of reacting to situations. As a captain, you don’t think about personal relationships with the other guy just because you lead your side,” he said.

Gambhir lauded Virat for the unbelievable transformation he has had over the years.

“There was and will never be anything personal against Virat Kohli. He has achieved a lot, but the way he has transformed himself is incredible. He has worked on his fitness and skills,’ he added.

After leading the franchise for seven seasons, Kohli resigned from RCB captaincy after IPL 2021.
