Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Smriti Mandhana has won the toss and elected to bowl against the UP Warriorz in match 18 of the Women's Premier League 2026.

Overview:

RCB won their opening match while UP Warriorz were thumped by Gujarat Giants in WPL 2026.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru women’s captain Smriti Mandhana has won the toss and elected to field first against the UP Warriorz Women in Match 5 of the Women’s Premier League 2026.

Toss Decision – Captain’s Comments & Reasoning

“We will field first because of the dew in the second half. The first match worked well for us. DY Patil has been a big chasing ground. Any total is not good enough over here. As a batting unit, you want to know the total you have to chase. It is about contributions, and we want contributions from the top order,” Smriti Mandhana said.

UP Warriorz skipper Meg Lanning wanted to bowl first as well.

“We would have bowled first as well, but teams batting first have won more matches. We did several things right in the first game, and hopefully, we will give our best today. The first game is always about learning, and we will come together as a group,” Lanning said.
