Delhi Capitals women’s captain Jemimah Rodrigues has won the toss and elected to bowl first against the UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League 2026.
Toss Decision – Captain’s Comments & Reasoning
“We will bowl first because the pitch gets better in the second innings with the dew coming in. Any target is chaseable here. We have shown character with the bat and ball despite being put under pressure. We will try to improve our performance today. Nandini Sharma is a captain’s delight. We don’t want to get desperate for the results,” Jemimah said.
UP Warrior women’s skipper Meg Lanning would have bowled first as well.
“We would have bowled as first. The teams batting first have done well over here. We will have to put pressure on them early. We need to take the bowlers on. We are looking forward to that and had good discussions, and it is time to execute our plans. Everybody knows about the shortcomings. We are looking forward to the challenge,” Lanning said.
