Umesh Yadav has been an exceptional Test bowler for India, but the speedster has been dropped from the Playing XI every now and then. He couldn’t make it to the team in the first two Tests against Australia. Jasprit Bumrah is the leader of the pace attack, with Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj being the second and third pacers.
Speaking to Cricbuzz, former India bowling coach Bharat Arun has revealed that Umesh used to get angry after he was not included in the Playing XI.
Arun was with Team India as a bowling coach during Ravi Shastri’s tenure.
“Sometimes he would get angry and not speak to me for a day but then he would come and say that he understand. Even when I sperak to him, I used to say that if you are not angry, there is something wrong., Umesh was a perfect teammate you would want to have in your team,” he said.
Umesh only played three Test matches in 2021 and three Tests in 2022. In 55 Tests, he has taken 168 wickets.
