The failure in the global tournament in 2021 was put on Kohli and Shastri by many.

Nizakat Khan, the captain of Hong Kong, said he is a big fan of Virat Kohli and wants him to score runs. India will take on Hong Kong in the next match of the Asia Cup 2022.

The 33-year-old has failed to perform well for quite some time. His last international century came back in 2019, and the batting maestro is finding it hard to stage a comeback.

This year he hasn’t scored the fifties consistently and was rested for more than a month to recover from mental fatigue.

“I am a big fan of Virat Kohli, who played well against Pakistan. We want him to score a lot of runs,” Nizakat told News 24 Sports. India defeated Hong Kong by just 26 runs when the two teams met last time in the Asia Cup 2018.

Hong Kong captain said anything is possible. “We lost by just 20 runs when we last faced India. Anything can happen in a T20 game. A bowler and batter can win you a game,” he added.
