Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is celebrating the 14th anniversary of his international career. The right-handed batter made his debut as a 19-year-old against Sri Lanka on August 18, 2008.

In the first game, he scored 12 runs off 22 balls before being sent back by Nuwan Kulasekara in the eighth over.

Earlier, he had led India to the U-19 World Cup title and was awarded an IPL contract by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

In his maiden IPL season, he accumulated 165 runs in 13 matches.

Meanwhile, after scoring 12 in the opening game, he made 37, 25, 54, and 31 runs in the next four.

The Delhi-based batter made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe on June 12, 2010, in Harare and played his first Test against West Indies in Jamaica on June 20, 2011.

Since then, he has hit 43 hundreds in one-day internationals, while his number stands at 27 in red-ball cricket. And as he celebrates his 14th anniversary, he shared a video. “14 years ago, it all started, and it’s been an honour.”
