Venkatesh Iyer smashed 151 off 113 balls against Chandigarh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. His knock helped Madhya Pradesh to set a 332-run target in the 50-over contest. He dedicated his sublime hundred to superstar Rajinikanth, who is celebrating his 71st birthday today.

Iyer performed Rajnikanth’s iconic salute after slamming a century against Chandigarh at Rajkot. The official social media handle of the KKR shared the viral video.

Venkatesh was recently retained by the Kolkata based franchise.

Iyer is a die-hard Rajinikanth fan. “He is mad about Rajinikanth. He has watched all his movies. Sometimes, he used to copy him (Rajinikanth) as well,” Iyer’s coach Dinesh Sharma was quoted saying by Times of India. The 26-year old recently made his debut for Team India during the T20I series against New Zealand.
