In a do-or-die match, the Women in Blue emerged on top and secured a 100-run victory against Barbados to qualify for the semi-finals of the Commonwealth Games 2022.

Renuka Thakur picked up four wickets to restrict Barbados to just 62 runs while chasing a total of 163 in twenty overs. She took a wicket in each of her first three overs. Meanwhile, her first wicket of Deandra Dottin has left the internet stunned.

Renuka bowled a perfect in-swinger to rattle Dottin’s stumps, who unfortunately had to go for a duck in her final international game.

The 26-year-old made her debut last year against Australia. It’s worth noting that India lost their CWG opener to Australia, but Renuka took a four-wicket haul in that match as well. She had a solitary wicket to her name against Pakistan.

Before the World Cup, Thakur had three WT20I wickets but has accumulated nine wickets in the ongoing CWG.

The semi-finals will be played on August 6, Saturday. Australia, India from group A and New Zealand, England from group B have qualified for the semis.
